Southern Fried Apples

These fried apples made with just 3 ingredients are cooked in butter and sweetened with sugar and cinnamon for an easy dessert or ice cream topping.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 large apples peeled, cored and sliced
  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients and slice the apples into uniform pieces for even cooking.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until it begins to foam.
  3. Add the apple slices and sauté for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they start to soften.
  4. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over the apples. Continue cooking 4–5 minutes more, allowing the sugar to melt and caramelize.
  5. Remove from heat once the apples are tender and the sauce is syrupy. Serve warm.
