Method
- Gather all ingredients and set up a high-speed blender or food processor.
- Add drained chickpeas and 2 tablespoons of the reserved chickpea liquid to the blender.
- Throw in garlic cloves, ground cumin, salt, lemon juice, and olive oil.
- Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed. If too thick, add a bit more reserved liquid.
- Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with extra cumin or paprika if desired.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature with pita bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables.
