Ingredients
Method
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Remove all packaging from the ham, including any plastic disc covering the bone.
- Place ham on a rack set in a large roasting pan, flat side down.
- Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern about 1/4-inch deep. This helps the glaze penetrate the meat.
- Add 1 cup of water to the bottom of the roasting pan and cover the ham tightly with aluminum foil.
- Bake the ham for 1 hour and 30 minutes (about 9-10 minutes per pound).
- While ham is baking, prepare the glaze. In a medium saucepan, combine honey, maple syrup, brown sugar, pineapple juice, Dijon mustard, ground cloves, cinnamon, and apple cider vinegar.
- Bring the glaze mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until sugar dissolves and mixture thickens slightly, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat.
- After the initial baking time, remove the ham from the oven and increase the temperature to 400°F (205°C).
- Carefully remove the foil and brush half of the glaze over the entire surface of the ham, working it into the scored cuts.
- Return the ham to the oven, uncovered, and bake for 15 minutes.
- Brush the ham with the remaining glaze and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes until the glaze is caramelized and the ham reaches an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C).
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
- Transfer to a serving platter and spoon any glaze from the bottom of the pan over the sliced ham.
