Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the white sugar and softened butter until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well.
  5. Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness on a floured surface and cut shapes with cookie cutters.
  6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  7. Cool cookies on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
