Method
- Gather all ingredients and preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add the flour and mix on low speed until the dough holds together.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently press into a 9-inch round pan.
- Prick the dough all over with a fork and cut into 12 wedges.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges are a delicate golden brown.
- Allow the shortbread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
