Method
- Gather all ingredients on a clean work surface.
- Thinly slice the tomatoes and mozzarella into 1/4-inch rounds.
- On a large platter, alternate tomato and mozzarella slices, overlapping slightly in a single layer.
- Tuck fresh basil leaves between each slice for pops of green and herbal fragrance.
- Drizzle extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar (or glaze) evenly over the salad.
- Season generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Serve immediately, or chill for 5–10 minutes if you prefer a cooler salad.
