Tropical Bahama Mama Cocktail

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ounce light rum
  • 1 ounce dark rum or coconut rum for a sweeter version
  • 2 ounces pineapple juice
  • 2 ounces orange juice fresh-squeezed is best!
  • 1/2 ounce grenadine syrup
  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • Orange slice and maraschino cherry for garnish

Method
 

  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients and tools. Having everything prepared makes the cocktail-mixing process much smoother.
  2. Fill your cocktail shaker halfway with crushed ice.
  3. Pour in the light rum, dark rum, pineapple juice, and orange juice.
  4. Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until the shaker feels cold to the touch.
  5. Fill your hurricane glass or tall cocktail glass with crushed ice.
  6. Strain the cocktail mixture into your glass.
  7. Slowly pour the grenadine down the inside of the glass - it will settle at the bottom creating a beautiful gradient effect.
  8. Garnish with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry.
  9. Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy!
