Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados peeled, pitted, and diced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 16 ounce can refried beans
  • 1 1 ounce package taco seasoning mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup guacamole
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
  • 2 medium tomatoes diced
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 4 green onions chopped
  • Tortilla chips for serving

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, mash the avocados with lime juice, salt, and garlic powder until desired consistency is reached. Set aside.
  2. Spread the refried beans evenly across the bottom of your serving dish, creating the first layer.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the taco seasoning with the sour cream until well combined. Carefully spread this mixture over the bean layer.
  4. Gently spread the prepared guacamole as your third layer, being careful not to mix with the sour cream layer.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the guacamole layer.
  6. Add a layer of diced tomatoes, distributing them evenly.
  7. Sprinkle the sliced black olives across the top.
  8. Finish with a layer of chopped green onions.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld together.
  10. Serve with tortilla chips and watch it disappear!
