- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth and frothy.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides well. Let any excess drip back into the bowl.
- Place the soaked bread on the hot skillet; cook until golden brown and crisp, about 2–3 minutes per side.
- Repeat with remaining slices, adding more butter as needed to prevent sticking.
- Serve immediately with maple syrup, fresh berries, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
