Crispy Air Fryer Broccoli Recipe – Quick, Healthy & Delicious
Ingredients
- 1 pound broccoli florets (trimmed and patted dry)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon water
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: a pinch of garlic powder or red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Toss broccoli with water in a bowl and microwave on high for 1 minute. This quick steam jump-starts tenderness.
- Drain any excess moisture, then add oil, salt, pepper, and optional seasonings. Massage florets for 30 seconds to coat evenly.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Arrange broccoli in a single layer in the basket or on the tray—overlapping is fine at first.
- Air-fry for 8 minutes. Then gently shake or flip florets and continue cooking for 4 more minutes until edges are crisp. For extra char, bump the temp to 390°F (200°C) for the last 2 minutes.
- Transfer to a serving plate, squeeze fresh lemon (if you like), and enjoy right away.
Special Tips
- Light steaming before air-frying keeps the inside tender and cuts overall cook time.
- Shake or flip halfway to ensure even browning; a quick spritz of oil at the end amps up crispiness.
- If you have a solid-tray air fryer, massaging oil and water into the florets helps them roast, not steam.
- Serve with a sprinkle of grated Parmesan or chili flakes for an extra flavor boost.
