Ingredients
Method
- Gather all ingredients and place a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until no pink remains, about 5–7 minutes.
- Drain any excess fat. Return the skillet to heat and stir in your favorite chili spices (chili powder, garlic powder, and paprika work great!). Add 1 cup water, stir to combine, and bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat and simmer the chili sauce for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened and flavorful.
- Toast 6 hot dog buns and warm 6 hot dogs according to package instructions.
- Place each hot dog in a bun, top generously with chili sauce, and finish with shredded cheese, diced onions, or sliced jalapeños if desired.
