Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups 4 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt; mix on low speed until the dough just comes together.
  5. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and pat into a ½-inch thick rectangle.
  6. Use a cookie cutter or knife to cut into shapes. Transfer cookies to prepared sheets.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges turn a light golden brown.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
