Method
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Stir in vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add the flour and salt; mix on low speed until the dough just comes together.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and pat into a ½-inch thick rectangle.
- Use a cookie cutter or knife to cut into shapes. Transfer cookies to prepared sheets.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges turn a light golden brown.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
